Hyder used to be a biiig mining town and was a busy harbor. There is still a bit of industry going on, but his dock seems to only be used by the local fishermen. Hyder is at the end of this the dock, and if I step backwards while taking this shot, I'll end up in the water of Portland Canal, a 70 mile-long fjord which eventually ends up in the Gulf of Alaska.
