On the way back from the '02 Rendez-vous, I started (a little late, I only thought of it as I was
crossing into BC from YT) saving waypoints for the gas stations I encountered.
There are actually a lot more than I expected, and you definitely do not need
400 miles of range to ride up there, at least during the tourist season (and
during "regular" hours.) Still,
I had to backtrack 50 miles once, as I didn't get fuel when I could have,
figuring that I should be able to find something within 100 miles I still had
left of range, and the station I found at my 50-mile go/no-go point did not have
gas... Those were a painful 100 miles to ride, back to the previous city,
arriving there with 0 miles to go reported by the trip computer for the last 2
or 3 miles, and then back again over the same road :-) (and it was a wise
choice, as I would have ran out before hitting the next station :-(
Here are 2 files :
If you upload those to your GPS, it can help figure out how far till the next available gas. Not every town on the map has a gas pump, and quite a few are in random, secluded spots.
